★ 4.91 · 160 reviewsWhere to stay near the Seattle Convention Center
The easiest base for a show at the Seattle Convention Center is anywhere within a 5–10 minute walk of both buildings: Summit at 900 Pine Street and Arch at 705 Pike Street. Our three 2-bedroom apartments at 1400 Hubbell Place in downtown Seattle are a 3-minute walk from both, about 7 minutes on foot from Westlake light rail station, and sleep 5–6 guests each.

Summit and Arch: one convention center, two buildings
The Seattle Convention Center is not one building but two. Arch is the original building at 705 Pike Street, built over Interstate 5 next to Freeway Park. Summit is the newer building at 900 Pine Street, which opened in January 2023 and, according to the convention center, nearly doubled the center's capacity with 574,630 square feet of event space, a 58,650-square-foot ballroom and a 14,000-square-foot outdoor Garden Terrace. Visit Seattle describes Summit as about a block and a half from Arch.
Arch also has a second, smaller meeting venue across the street at 800 Pike Street. PAX West, for example, runs badge pickup from there. Before you book anything, find out which building your sessions, booth or badge pickup are in. If you will move between both, look for a place that sits between them rather than at either end.
What "near the convention center" should mean
For most attendees the test is simple: can you walk back between sessions to drop a bag, take a call or change before dinner? That works when your door is no more than 5–10 minutes from both buildings. Further than that, and you will carry everything all day.
Three things are worth checking before you book:
- Walking time to both buildings, not just "distance to the convention center". A place on the far side of Arch can be a long walk from Summit's upper floors.
- Your route from the airport. Link light rail from Sea-Tac stops at Westlake Station, close to both buildings, so being near Westlake saves a taxi on arrival and departure day.
- Space to work. Long show days often end with email or slide edits. A table, decent Wi-Fi and a quiet bedroom matter more than a lobby bar.
Walking times from 1400 Hubbell Place
Our building sits on Hubbell Place between Pike and Pine streets, on the downtown side of the convention center. These are the walking times quoted in our listings, plus straight-line distances measured from OpenStreetMap coordinates:
- Summit, 900 Pine St: about 3 minutes (0.1 mi)
- Arch, 705 Pike St: about 3 minutes (0.1 mi)
- Paramount Theatre: about 2 minutes (0.1 mi)
- Westlake Station (Link light rail and the Seattle Center Monorail): about 7 minutes (0.3 mi)
- Pacific Place shopping center: about 7 minutes
- Pike Place Market: about 15 minutes (0.6 mi), mostly downhill
The short walk means you can head back at lunch, which is often the quietest hour in the apartment and the busiest in the convention center's food courts.
Hotel room or 2-bedroom apartment?
A hotel is simple for one person on a company card. For two to six people traveling together, a 2-bedroom apartment can be the more practical choice:
- One booking instead of several. Colleagues, friends sharing a show weekend, or a family with a parent at a conference stay together.
- A full kitchen. Breakfast before an early keynote and late dinners without hunting for an open table during a sold-out show.
- An in-unit washer & dryer in every apartment, so a four-day show needs less luggage.
- A shared living room for prep the night before a booth opens, or for debriefing after.
The trade-offs are real too: there is no hotel restaurant or room service, and check-in is from 4:00 PM with check-out by 11:00 AM, so plan luggage around show times. Each apartment is professionally cleaned after every stay.
Our three apartments
All three are in the same downtown Seattle building, each with two bedrooms and a full kitchen:
- The Two-Bath 2BR sleeps 6 and has two full bathrooms, the most comfortable choice for colleagues who are not sharing a room.
- The Lumière 2BR sleeps 6 and has a round table that seats four, which works as a team desk.
- The Top-Floor 2BR sleeps 5, has skyline views and a dedicated workspace.
Booking several for a larger team? All three are in one building, so a group of up to 17 can stay under one roof. The corporate and relocation guide explains how teams book.
When to book
Big shows fill downtown Seattle fast. PAX West over Labor Day weekend and Emerald City Comic Con in spring are the busiest, followed by large medical and scientific meetings. Our guides to PAX West 2027, Emerald City Comic Con 2027 and medical conferences in 2026–27 list verified dates. For everything else, the events calendar links to the official schedules, and the Convention Center walking guide has a map.

FAQ
How far is the Seattle Convention Center from your apartments?
About a 3-minute walk. Summit (900 Pine St) and Arch (705 Pike St) are each about 0.1 miles in a straight line from 1400 Hubbell Place.
Which building is my event in, Summit or Arch?
Check your event's own website or badge confirmation. Large shows such as PAX West and Emerald City Comic Con use both buildings; many association meetings use only one.
Can I get from Sea-Tac Airport to the Convention Center without a car?
Yes. Link light rail 1 Line runs from SeaTac/Airport Station to Westlake Station in about 38 minutes, per Sound Transit. From Westlake it is a short walk to either building, and about 7 minutes on foot to our apartments.
Is a 2-bedroom apartment practical for a work trip?
For two to six colleagues it often is: two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a table that seats four and an in-unit washer & dryer in every apartment, all in one booking.
How do I get the direct-booking discount?
Book on our own site. You get 10% off when you book direct, and the full total is shown at checkout before you pay.
