★ 4.91 · 160 reviewsSeattle with kids and groups
The best family stops from downtown Seattle are the Seattle Aquarium (Pier 59 and Pier 60) and the Great Wheel (Pier 57) on the waterfront, Seattle Center by monorail for the Space Needle, MoPOP and the Pacific Science Center, Woodland Park Zoo (5500 Phinney Ave N), and The Museum of Flight (open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., per its website). For groups of up to 6, a 2-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and an in-unit washer and dryer keeps everyone together.

On the waterfront
- Seattle Aquarium, at Pier 59 and Pier 60, with the Ocean Pavilion across Alaskan Way. Check the daily talk schedule on the Aquarium's site.
- Seattle Great Wheel, Pier 57, 1301 Alaskan Way.
- Pike Place Market, above the waterfront, about a 15-minute walk from us. Kids tend to love the fish stalls; go early for smaller crowds.
Seattle Center by monorail
The monorail ride itself is a hit: it runs from Westlake Center, about 7 minutes on foot from us, to Seattle Center in about 2 minutes.
- Space Needle, with the Loupe revolving glass floor.
- Pacific Science Center, hands-on science exhibits at Seattle Center.
- MoPOP, the Museum of Pop Culture, in the building the monorail runs through.
- Chihuly Garden and Glass, best for older kids.
A little farther
- Woodland Park Zoo, 5500 Phinney Ave N, north of downtown by bus or ride-hail.
- The Museum of Flight, 9404 E. Marginal Way South, open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. per its website, with free parking.
- The Water Taxi to West Seattle from Pier 50, about 10 to 15 minutes; King County says youth 18 and younger ride free.
Rainy-day backup
