Cruise guide

Before and after your Seattle cruise

Seattle has two cruise terminals: Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66 (2225 Alaskan Way), about 0.9 miles in a straight line from our downtown Seattle apartments, and Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 (2001 W Garfield St), about 2.6 miles away. Staying downtown the night before means a short ride to either terminal and time for Pike Place Market, about a 15-minute walk from us.

Why stay a night before your cruise

Many travelers fly in the day before embarkation. Flights get delayed, bags go missing, and a missed sailing is expensive. A night in downtown Seattle turns that buffer into part of the trip: Pike Place Market, the waterfront and the Seattle Art Museum are all on foot from our building.

Know your terminal

The Port of Seattle runs two cruise terminals, and they are not close to each other:

  • Bell Street Cruise Terminal, Pier 66, 2225 Alaskan Way, on the downtown waterfront. The Port lists Norwegian Cruise Line and Oceania Cruises here. About 0.9 miles from our building in a straight line.
  • Smith Cove Cruise Terminal, Pier 91, 2001 W Garfield St, in Interbay north of downtown. The Port lists Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Holland America, MSC, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Virgin Voyages here. About 2.6 miles from our building.

Lines and ships can change by season, so confirm your terminal in your cruise documents or on the Port's published cruise schedule (the 2027 preliminary schedule is already posted). Distances are straight-line, measured from OpenStreetMap coordinates.

Getting from the airport to downtown

Link light rail runs from SeaTac/Airport Station to Westlake Station; Sound Transit quotes 38 minutes airport to downtown, with trains about every 8–10 minutes most of the day. From Westlake our building is about 7 minutes on foot. With a lot of luggage, a taxi or ride-hail is simpler. Our airport guide has step-by-step directions.

Getting to the terminal on sailing day

  • To Pier 66: it is downhill to the waterfront, about 0.9 miles. A short taxi or ride-hail is easiest with cases.
  • To Pier 91: plan on a car, taxi or ride-hail.
  • Parking: if you drive, the Port's cruise page lists the parking operators for each terminal. Our building has garage space for compact cars on request (SUVs do not fit), but that only helps for the nights you stay with us; see downtown parking.

Our check-out time is 11:00 AM and we can't hold luggage after check-out, so book your ride for a time that suits your boarding window.

The day before: what to do downtown

  • Pike Place Market, about a 15-minute walk: open-air stalls, the waterfront views and the original market buildings. See our Pike Place walking guide.
  • Seattle Art Museum, 1300 First Ave, about a 12-minute walk.
  • The waterfront, about a 20-minute walk to the ferry terminal at Colman Dock.
  • If it rains, our rainy-day guide lists indoor options.

After your cruise

Check your line's disembarkation time. If your flight is the same day, head straight to Sea-Tac. If you are adding a post-cruise night or two, note that check-in is from 4:00 PM, so you may want to drop into Pike Place or a museum first. A week at sea means a lot of laundry, and every one of our apartments has an in-unit washer & dryer.

Why a 2-bedroom for cruise families

Cruise travel is often multi-generational, and a pre-cruise night in two hotel rooms splits the family. Our apartments sleep 5–6 in two bedrooms with a full kitchen:

Each is professionally cleaned after every stay. The building has a front-desk concierge and an on-site building manager. Our cruise terminals page has a quick distance table.

FAQ

Which Seattle cruise terminal does my ship use?

Check your cruise documents or the Port of Seattle's cruise schedule. Per the Port, Pier 66 (Bell Street) hosts Norwegian and Oceania, and Pier 91 (Smith Cove) hosts lines including Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Holland America, MSC, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Virgin Voyages.

How far is Pier 66 from your apartments?

About 0.9 miles in a straight line, roughly a 20-minute walk downhill to the waterfront (estimate). With luggage, most guests take a short ride.

How far is Pier 91?

About 2.6 miles in a straight line, in the Interbay area; plan on a car, taxi or ride-hail.

Can I check in early or leave bags on embarkation day?

Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM, and we cannot hold luggage outside those times, so plan your ride straight from the apartment to the terminal on sailing day.
